Match Day Dinner 3-20-08

We thought that since we were not going to be in the US for match day, we should do something special for ourselves, such as going to a fancy dinner at a nice roasted duck restaurant. After daily meals at the cafeteria spending of $1 or less per day for very salty food, we decided a luxurious dinner on match day would be a good way to celebrate the beginning of a new era. Even though I did not eat duck (meat is too greasy and tough for me), the rest of the dishes were delicious and beautifully prepared, my best meal in China by far! We followed it with karaoke until 1am, which is when our results were available online at NRMP. Susie and I were actually kinda sick, so we decided to return to our room, buy some ice cream and watch "My big fat Greek wedding" instead. All of us from UCSF matched our first choice, Judith matched at Kaiser Oakland for prelim and UCSF for derm, Susie matched at UCSF for medicine, Yile matched at CPMC for medicine and I matched at UCLA for pediatrics. We go power girls!

The duck looks lovely! Everyone from UCSF I've talked to has gotten their first choice for residency. I'm glad I worked hard in college in order to get into UCSF!
